The BMW Group will expand capacity at its U.S. plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina, investing $1 billion (€726.8 / £601.5 million) to increase annual production to 450,000 units by the end of 2016.

So far X3, X5, X5 M, X6 and X6 M models have been manufactured at the factory. On 28 March the all-new BMW X4 SUV entered the production line that turned into BMW's centre of competence for X vehicles.
