Cadillac has revealed on its official website plans to introduce a special edition ATS Crimson which comes with several upgrades.
The highlight of this special ATS is an unique exterior paint scheme called Crimson Red Metallic along with several aerodynamic bits and pieces such as the front-low air splitter together with a rear diffuser and aero-optimized rocker moldings. This "cherry of a vehicle" can also be distinguished by its aero decklid spoiler and 18-inch forged aluminum wheels featuring a Dark Silver finish. Inside the cabin changes are limited to a microfiber suede applied on the heated steering wheel and gear shifter.
Powering the 2014 ATS Crimson special edition is a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with 270 bhp (201 kW) and 260 lb-ft (353 Nm) or a larger V6 3.6-liter rated at 318 bhp (237 kW) and 267 lb-ft (362 Nm). It can be configured with either a rear- or all-wheel drive arrangement in the 2.0L Turbo Performance and 3.6L Premium Collections guises.
Pricing details have not been disclosed but Cadillac says the ATS Crimson will hit showrooms this spring. Needless to say, it will be more expensive than the entry-level model which kicks off at 33,065 USD and comes with rear-wheel drive and a 200 bhp 4-cylinder 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated engine.
