French media is reporting Peugeot plans to make a Dakar comeback with a Red Bull sponsored car.

According to French newspaper l'Equipe, Peugeot is preparing to compete in next year's Dakar rally with a two-wheel drive car sponsored by Red Bull. Chances of seeing Sebastien Loeb behind the wheel are slim since he is involved in Citroën's WTCC team so most likely Peugeot will opt for Carlos Sainz who just signed a three-year contract with Peugeot Sport.

In addition, one of the cars could be driven by Stéphane Peterhansel who triumphed in this competition for no less than eleven times. It is not known whether Peugeot will take part in the T1 and T2 category after a 25-year long break but if these rumors will become reality expect an official announcement to occur in the months to come.
