Chevrolet has announced plans to offer the first 2015 Corvette Z06 at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Palm Beach, Florida on April 12th.

The proceeds from the auction will benefit the Karmanos Cancer Institute which will use the funds to improve their infusion center. The Institute hopes the improvements will provide a more comfortable and soothing setting for patients to receive chemotherapy treatments.

In a statement, GM President Dan Ammann said “Chevrolet’s donation of the first 2015 Corvette Z06 produced is yet another way that we are showing our continued support of the Karmanos Cancer Institute. The funds raised from the auction will help further the exceptional patient care that Karmanos is known for in our community and across the country."

As we have previously reported, the Corvette Z06 will go on sale early next year and feature an aerodynamic body kit as well as a supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V8 engine with "at least" 625 bhp (466 kW) and 635 lb-ft (861 Nm) of torque.
