Jaguar has fully revealed the XFR-S Sportbrake prior to its Geneva public debut programmed for next week.
A couple of days ago we saw the XFR-S Sportbrake in a leaked official image and now the car has been revealed in full and it's ready to compete head to head with the Audi RS6 Avant and Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Estate. The high-performance wagon comes with the XFR-S sedan's 5.0-liter V8 supercharged engine delivering 542 bhp (405 kW) and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) via an eight-speed automatic gearbox fitted with Quickshift technology found also in the F-Type.
The Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake will cover the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint in 4.6 seconds (4.8s until 100 km/h) before hitting an electronically-capped top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h). The British marque says their hot estate returns 18.4 mpg US (22.2 mpg UK or 12.7 liters) with corresponding CO2 emissions of 297 g/km.
Jaguar mentions they had to revise the rear suspension in order to "manage the extra rear mass" by updating the rear spring rates and the adaptive damper tune. In addition, the active electronic differential and the dynamic stability control settings were further tweaked, while stopping power comes from 380mm front / 376mm rear ventilated discs featuring special air channels to benefit from additional cooling provided by the underbody air channeling.
It rides on 20-inch Varuna forged alloy wheels taken from the sedan and has received a new roof spoiler, carbon fiber inserts on both bumpers, along with bespoke 265/35 front and 295/30 rear Pirelli tires.
Available in UK from April 1st, the 2014 Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake will have a steep starting price of 82,495 GBP.
