Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) has envisioned a Hyundai concept to rival the Alfa Romeo 4C which will be showcased at the 84th Geneva Motor Show next month.
Commissioned by Hyundai Design Center Europe, the PassoCorto concept represents "a tribute to the Made in Italy design that is studied at the IED." Essentially, it's a rear mid-engined, two-seater lightweight sportscar with the following physical dimensions: 4100mm length, 1880mm width, 1160mm height and a 2450mm wheelbase.
The vehicle – whose name comes from "short wheelbase" in Italian - was imagined with a carbon fiber monocoque chassis enabling the PassoCorto to tip the scales at just 840 kg (1,852 lbs) with motivation provided by a Hyundai 4-cylinder, twin-turbo 1.6-liter gasoline engine outputting approximately 270 bhp (201 kW).
A 1:10 scale model of the Hyundai PassoCorto concept will be exhibited in early March at the Geneva Motor Show.
