Qoros has released additional details and images with the 3 Hatch which will be showcased early next month at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.

Basically a hatchback version of the 3 Sedan, Qoros' second production model is 177mm shorter and has an overall length of 4438mm with a wheelbase stretching at 2690mm. The vehicle will come as standard with 16-inch alloy wheels while higher-spec versions get 17- and 18-inch rims. Six exterior paint colors will be available without extra costs, along with a standard a 3.5-inch TFT display installed in the center of the instrument cluster.

Also standard equipment is the 8-inch capacitive touchscreen display for the infotainment system which features multi-touch gestures and works with a four-speaker sound system or with a more premium 150-watt six-speaker audio setup.

Pop up the hood and you will find a 4-cylinder, 1.6-liter gasoline engine offered in both naturally-aspirated and turbocharged forms. The first one generates 126 HP (93 kW) and 155 Nm (114 lb-ft) and is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox which enables the hatchback to perform the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 11.6 seconds. Pair this engine with the six-speed DCT and the sprint takes one second more.

The turbocharged variant generates 156 HP (115 kW) and 210 Nm (155 lb-ft) and can be had only with the aforementioned DCT. In this configuration, the Qoros 3 Hatch will do the sprint in 9.7 seconds before topping out at 130 mph (210 km/h).

In terms of fuel consumption, the NA engine returns 37.3 mpg US (44.8 mpg UK or 6.3 liters / 100 km) with the manual and 38.5 mpg US (46.3 mpg UK or 6.1 liters) with the DCT, while the turbocharged motor coupled to the DCT will return 36.1 mpg US (43.4 mpg UK or 6.5 liters / 100 km).

Slated to go on sale in the second half of the year, the Qoros 3 Hatch is going to be manufactured together with the 3 Sedan at the firm's new Changshu assembly plant located near Shanghai.
