Volvo Polestar Racing has unveiled the S60 racecar which will take part in this year's V8 Supercars Championship.

Wearing an attractive Valvoline livery, the S60 V8 Supercar will stretch its legs for the first time on Saturday during the test day organized at Sydney Motorsport Park. The vehicle is powered by a naturally-aspirated V8 5.0-liter engine outputting an estimated 650 HP (478 kW) and 487 lb-ft (660 Nm) of torque.

The engine revs up to 7,500 rpm and runs on E85 fuel enabling the 1,410 kg (3,108 lbs) racecar to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill in 3.2 seconds on its way to a top speed of more than 185 mph (298 km/h). Power is sent to the rear axle through a six-speed sequential transaxle gearbox with a built-in spool differential.

The Volvo S60 V8 Supercar benefits from a double wishbone front and independent rear suspension, while stopping power is provided by 395mm front and 355mm rear ventilated discs with six- and four-point AP Racing calipers. It sits on 18-inch forged alloy wheels wrapped around in Dunlop tires and has been configured with Öhlins TTX dampers.

More details can be found in the attached press release.
