According to a recent report, the Renault Alpine has been delayed due to a styling change.
Details are limited but Autocar says the model received a "mixed reception" when shown to potential customers. As a result, it is reportedly being redesigned.
The styling changes are expected to delay the model's launch until late 2016 - at the earliest. This has reportedly caused tension with Caterham because their design was finalized months ago but they can't move forward with the project until Renault is ready.
Caterham CEO Graham Macdonald declined to confirm the delay but said “There are ongoing frustrations on both sides, but we knew there would be challenges from the start." He went on to say "It was never going to be easy: we are a small, agile company and they are a large, corporate firm. That’s causing frustrations for us and, I’m sure, for them.”
