Porsche CEO Matthias Mueller has acknowledged a more potent GTS version of the Macan crossover is being considered.

The Macan is turning out to be a worthy weapon in Porsche's objective to surpass 200,000 annual deliveries. As a matter of fact, the firm's CEO Matthias Mueller says the mark will be hit in 2015, three years earlier than originally estimated. At this moment Porsche is planning to build 50,000 units of the Macan each year but they are already prepared to increase production output if the demand will be high enough.

A more powerful range-topping GTS version is also being considered to spice up the Macan lineup and although they haven't decided yet, Mueller believes "it makes a lot of sense." At the other end of the range, Porsche's first ever crossover will be offered in select markets with a four-cylinder engine. The small gasoline motor could be introduced towards the end of the year and it might be a 2.0-liter rated at around 220 bhp (164 kW).
