Official images of the 2015 Subaru Legacy have hit the web prior to a public debut programmed for later this month at the Chicago Auto Show.

Subaru tried to fool us with the gorgeous Legacy concept in November last year in Los Angeles but in the end the production-ready sixth-generation of the model looks bland and inexpressive. Subaru has recently developed a bad habit of coming up with very attractive concepts which fail to carry over to the production versions.

The front of the car seems to be inspired from the 2015 WRX especially in the headlight design, while the prominent grille, rounder bumpers and a more raked roofline provide the vehicle with a slightly more dynamic look but the design doesn’t even come close to that of the aforementioned concept.

At the back there are slimmer taillights and a spoiler lip while the cabin has been overhauled and packs a new center console as well as a redesigned instrument cluster. Also updated is the steering wheel design and there seem to be more premium materials providing a more upscale feel.

Subaru will fully reveal the 2015 Legacy on Thursday.
