Jaguar's Super Bowl commercial was a bit of letdown but that hasn't stopped the automaker from taking a potshot at Maserati which also aired an ad during last night's game.

In a Twitter post, Jaguar USA said "Did you know that #ghibli means hot air? Seems appropriate." While the company deserves credit for being clever - as ghibli is a "hot, dust-carrying desert wind in North Africa, somewhat similar to the foehn" - we can't imagine Maserati is assumed.

However, Maserati isn't Jaguar's first target as the company has previously mocked Mercedes' Magic Body Control commercial. The German automaker eventually responded with a subtle picture which said "cat-like reflexes aren't fast enough."
