Subaru has officially unveiled their new WRX STI NBR Challenge.
Set to compete in the Nürburgring 24 Hour Race, the car will be entered into the SP3T class which was designed for turbocharged models with an engine displacement of 2.0-liters or less.
As a result, the car has been equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine that produces 340 HP (250 kW) and 461 Nm (340 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a six-speed sequential transmission which has an STI metal clutch.
Besides being more powerful than the road-going model, the race car has modified bumpers, carbon fiber canards and a prominent rear wing. The car has also been equipped with a ventilated hood, lightweight windows and a track-tuned suspension. Other highlights include Brembo brakes and 18-inch BBS wheels with Dunlop tires.
The car will be driven by Toshihiro Yoshida, Kota Sasaki, Carlo van Dam and Marcel Lasée. It will be entered into two VLN endurance races - on April 12th and May 17th - before competing in the 24 hour race on June 21st and 22nd.
