A prototype of the Audi S1 has been spied cold weather testing once again on Lapland's icy roads.

These spy photos show not only that Audi is preparing an S1 but also a facelift for the regular A1 slated to come out later this year. It's the same right-hand drive prototype snapped several days ago and most likely the spy pics were taken prior to the minor accident.

Power will probably come from a 2.0-liter turbo four-banger outputting approximately 220 HP (161 kW) delivered to a quattro all-wheel drive system via manual and automatic transmissions. Matching the extra oomph will be a beefed up body kit, sports suspension, larger alloy wheels and a quad exhaust system for the German pocket rocket.

Chances are Audi will showcase the 2014 A1 facelift / S1 in March at the Geneva Motor Show.
