Volvo Cars North America's president and CEO Tony Nicolosi disclosed some details about the availability of the forthcoming all-new XC90.

Nicolosi talked about the second generation Volvo XC90 during the U.S. media launch of the 2015 S60, V60 and XC60 models, saying the SUV will be shown "very soon." According to most recent reports, the vehicle will go on sale as soon as this fall but Nicolosi said its U.S. availability will start late March next year (as a 2016MY), following a possible U.S. debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show (November 21-30, 2014).

The SUV was previewed earlier this month at NAIAS in Detroit by the XC Coupe concept and will ride on Volvo's new Scalable Product Architecture. It will come with a wide array of safety-related technologies and will be powered by newly developed Drive-E engines.
