Nissan Executive Vice President Andy Palmer has revealed some new details about the company's future sports car lineup.

Speaking to Autocar, Palmer said "a new Z will happen" and there will be "a normal version and a Nismo [version]." The model is expected to be smaller than the 370Z and feature a turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

The executive went on to say the next-generation GT-R will have a "brutal appearance" and be available with a hybrid powertrain. Palmer declined to elaborate but confirmed the company has already registered the Race Hybrid / R-Hybrid moniker.

Both models will be joined by two new sports cars which were previewed by the Bladeglider and IDx concepts.
