The Polaris Slingshot has been revealed online through leaked patent renderings.

Set to compete with the Campagna T-Rex, the Polaris Slingshot is a side-by-side trike scheduled to go on sale in the following months. News about the Slingshot emerged almost a year ago and now Polaris has released a press release in which they confirm plans to put the Slingshot on the production line in 2014.

While the aforementioned Campagna T-Rex makes use of a 160 bhp BMW Motorrad-derived engine, the Polaris Slingshot will reportedly be powered by a 4-cylinder, 2.4-liter engine taken from General Motors which will develop approximately 200 bhp (149 kW). The interesting trike will adopt a belt to send power to the rear wheel while other features on the table include traction control, ABS and electric power steering.
