Subaru is showcasing these days at 2014 Tokyo Auto Salon the WRX STI race car developed for the 24 Hours Nürburgring endurance race.

Subaru still hasn't officially showed us the road-going 2014 WRX STI but today they have introduced its race-spec sibling at the Tokyo Auto Salon in Japan which will take part in this year's 24 Hours Nürburgring endurance race (19-22 June).

The vehicle will take part in the SP3T class and will be driven by Toshihiro Yoshida and Kouta Sasaki both from Japan as well as by two additional drivers from Europe while the team's manager is going to be Hideharu Tatsumi. It will be Subaru's seventh consecutive presence in the endurance race and they hope to triumph once again after their 2012 success in the same SP3T class.

The 2014 Tokyo Auto Salon starts today and will close its doors on Sunday. The road-legal 2014 Subaru WRX STI will be introduced next week at NAIAS in Detroit.
