The next generation of the Suzuki Alto - set to receive the Celerio moniker - has been spotted during a photo session.

The Suzuki/Maruti Celerio will be showcased in February at the 2014 Auto Expo in India and as these photos show it will clearly carry most of the design from the A:Wind concept. Power is expected to come from an updated version of the 3-cylinder, 1.0-liter gasoline engine which will output more than the current 67 bhp (50 kW) and 66 lb-ft (90 Nm) sent to the front axle through a CVT. Rumors are also indicating a diesel engine sometime in the future but details are not available at this point.

In terms of dimensions, we remind you the A:Wind concept is 3600mm long, 1600mm wide and 1540mm tall, with a wheelbase stretched compared to the outgoing Alto by 60mm to 2425mm. The concept exhibited at Thailand Motor Show came with 16-inch alloys shod in 185/55 R16 tires but most likely the production version will get 14- or 15-inch rims.
