IHS Automotive has issued a study about the future of autonomous vehicles which according to the report will eventually end up dominating the car market.

The future doesn't look too bright for those among us who prefer to have full car control as IHS Automotive says by 2035 almost 54 million vehicles will benefit from some type of autonomous technology.

Sales of self-driving cars will increase from 230,000 units in 2025 to 11.8 million cars in 2035. The study says fully autonomous cars will hit the roads around 2030 and sometime after 2050 almost all personal and commercial vehicles will be fully automated.

By 2025, 0.2 percent of all car sales will consist of self-driving vehicles and this percentage will rise to 9.2 by 2035. The added technology will increase the car's price tag between 7,000 and 10,000 USD by 2025 but will decrease to about 5,000 USD by 2030 and to 3,000 USD around 2035.
