BMW will unveil their plans for "highly automated driving" at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

The company declined to go into specifics but confirmed they will "reveal details of its current research and development project for highly automated driving, which is designed to increase safety, comfort and efficiency for the driver and traffic system."

Besides unveiling the autonomous driving technology, BMW will showcase BMW ConnectedDrive and the BMW i Remote app which displays vehicle information on an owner's smartphone.

BMW will also announce a new collaboration with a "leader in the consumer electronics industry." Unfortunately, there's no word on what it involves or who BMW is working with.
