Gooding & Company has announced plans to auction off a 1997 McLaren F1 GTR Longtail racer.
Set to go under the hammer at their Scottsdale auction, the GTR Longtail has a BMW-sourced 6.0-liter V12 engine that produces 604 bhp (450 kW). The model was campaigned by the BMW Works Motorsport Team and raked up wins at Helsinki and Hockenheim. The car was also driven noted drivers J.J. Lehto and Steve Soper.
Given its racing pedigree, the car has been loving restored by McLaren and has been maintained by Lanzante Ltd.
The GTR Longtail is expected to fetch between $5,000,000 - $7,000,000 (€3,649,635 - €5,107,625), so happy bidding.
