BMW might have beaten them to the punch but Audi has finally jumped on the laser light bandwagon.
During the official unveiling of the 2014 R18 e-tron quattro, Audi confirmed the car has laser lights that complement the LED headlights. As Audi explained, "A blue laser beam backlights a yellow phosphorus crystal lens through which the light beam is then emitted." The company went on to say the laser lights will provide "even more homogenous lighting of the road."
The company stopped short of confirming plans to introduce laser lights on road-going models but hinted they "open up completely new possibilities for our production models in the future."
