The next generation of the Hyundai i20 has been spied testing on the roads of Spain ahead of what will be a 2014 launch.

Hyundai is continuing the testing procedures for the next-gen i20 which will probably look like a larger i10 adopting sweptback headlights, a bigger lower front grille and vertical taillights. It should also come with a tailgate-mounted spoiler and turn signals built into the mirrors. Since the i10 is now bigger, the i20 will likely grow in size as well to maintain a distance between the two models in Hyundai's lineup.

Power will come from the firm's familiar 1.0-liter three-cylinder and 1.25-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engines as well as the 1.1-liter three-cylinder and 1.4-liter four-cylinder diesels. These motors will be coupled to a standard 6-speed manual transmission or an optional automatic gearbox. More importantly, the i20 will become Hyundai's first model to spawn an "N" performance variant which is programmed to come out in 2015.
