Porsche has released a video in which they showcase how the 2014 Macan crossover is being built at the company's Leipzig factory in Germany.
The Volkswagen Group has invested a lot of money in promoting Porsche's version of the Audi Q5 and the marketing department continues to advertise the Macan by showing how the car comes to life at the Leipzig facility in Germany. Production of the Macan has begun but customers will have to wait until April 2014 to receive their cars.
Right now it's available in three versions (Macan S, Macan S Diesel and Macan Turbo) while a fourth member will be added sometime next year with a four-cylinder engine, according to the firm's powertrain and transmission boss Thomas Casper.
Despite losing two cylinders, Casper says the entry-level Macan will remain a "proper Porsche" and will maintain a sporty exhaust as this is a "top priority" for the company. The engine will most likely be a 2.0-liter turbo with around 220 bhp (164 kW) which later on could find its way inside the Boxster / Cayman duo.
