Dressed in heavily camouflage, the prototype has an evolutionary design with rounded surfaces and a familiar front end. The details are hard to make out but the model has a rakish windscreen, a more dramatic roofline and a stylish dual exhaust system.

Despite the déjà vu design, the sedan could be significantly lighter as it expected to adopt a number of aluminum and carbon fiber components. Nothing is official but rumors have pegged the weight savings at anywhere from 200 to 500 lbs (91 kg to 226 kg).

Engine options will likely include the usual suspects but previous reports have indicated the model could be offered with a new four-cylinder engine that develops approximately 260 bhp (194 kW). There have also been rumors about a possible M770i xDrive that uses a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 that cranks out 475 bhp (354 kW) and 480 lb-ft (650 Nm).
