All versions of the new Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) will be compatible with M Performance parts such as a black decorative grid on the kidney grille, along with a carbon look for the exterior mirror caps and front splitter. Also part of the package is a diffuser insert for the rear apron, side sill foils with "M Performance" inscription and air ducting elements.

Inside the cabin the X5 owner can choose to customize the vehicle with a carbon-covered gear lever, M Performance floor mats, sports steering wheel with red central marking, as well as high-grade steel accelerator and brake pedals. Other goodies offered include 21-inch bi-color wheels, chrome/carbon tailpipe trim elements and an M Performance brake system with blue calipers.

The xDrive35i model can receive a 20 HP (15 kW) and 50 Nm (37 lb-ft) power hike to provide a grand total of 326 HP (240 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft). This model can also be configured with a silencer system while BMW mentions the accelerator pedal setup has been optimized to provide an improved response.
