Porsche North America has uploaded the online configurator for the 2014 Macan crossover.

One of the main ideas behind the new Macan was to offer a more affordable alternative to the larger Cayenne. However, the Macan S carries a starting price of 49,900 USD which makes it 300 USD pricier than its larger sibling. Opt for the Macan Turbo and price jumps to 72,300 USD and if you want the Aurum Metallic paint prepare to pay an extra 3,120 USD.

From the generous list of optional goodies we find the panoramic roof (1,670 USD), ParkAssist with Reversing Camera (1,460 USD), front and rear stainless steel skid plates (1,410 USD), thermal- and noise-insulating privacy glass (990 USD) and 21-inch 911 Turbo design wheels (3,300 USD). The most expensive option is a Burmester surround sound system available for 4,290 USD, while ticking all of the available boxes for the Macan Turbo will bump up the price to 112,000 USD.

As far as other markets are concerned, in Germany the car will begin at 57,930 EUR while in United Kingdom the model starts at 43,300 GBP.

Although it might sound a bit weird that the Macan is more expensive than the Cayenne, we should mention Porsche plans on launching four-cylinder gasoline and diesel Macans in the future which will certainly be cheaper.
