Fiat is showcasing in L.A. a retro-flavored version of its cute 500 city car, following an announcement made a week ago.

The limited edition model is a throwback to the Cinquecento and will be available only with a MultiAir 1.4-liter engine packing 101 bhp (75 kW) and 132 Nm (98 lb-ft). The motor will work in combination with either a 5-speed manual or an optional 6-speed automatic transmission. It will ride on exclusive 16-inch alloys shod in all-season performance tires and will be fitted with a sport-tuned suspension.

Fiat will offer only three exterior colors to choose from: Celeste (celestial blue), Verde Chiaro (light green) and Bianco (white) which will be matched to a Bianco roof and Marrone (brown) leather seats on the inside. The cabin also hosts a premium sound system, metallic accents and a leather-covered steering wheel.

The 2014 Fiat 500 1957 Edition will be sold with a unique key fob featuring a Marrone casing and "1957" graphic painted in blue. It will go on sale next spring and pricing details will be disclosed closer to its market release.
