The Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe has come out for a bit of playtime on the open roads in preparation for its launch next year. The prototype caught here is wearing its full production body, albeit with black and white psychedelic plastered over to hide the finer details from prying eyes.
The most striking element on the design is the size of the massive air intakes on the front bumper. They are usually big on the range topper of the S-Class Coupe series, but this looks pretty special. Aside from this, we also get a slightly better look at the restyled headlights while the new rear LED lights are clearly visible in the pictured from behind.
Under the hood lies AMG's 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that pushes 585 bhp (436 kW) through to the wheels via a 7-speed SPEEDSHIFT MCT sports transmission system. It should enable the model to propel from 0-100kph (62mph) in around 3.8 seconds before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
