Hyundai is showcasing at the Los Angeles Auto Show not only an updated 2014 Veloster but also this hotter R-Spec variant.

The R-Spec treatment was already applied to three Genesis models and now time has come for the Veloster Turbo to receive extra goodies like revised suspension and steering, as well as a six-speed close-ratio manual gearbox that comes with a redesigned shift knob. It can also be distinguished by the red exterior accents, a short-throw B&M Racing Sport Shifter, red leatherette bolsters with red/black cloth insert sport seats and various "R-Spec" badging which can also be found on the floor mats.

The 2014 Hyundai Veloster Turbo R-Spec comes with the same direct-injected 1.6-liter turbo engine outputting 201 bhp (150 kW) and 195 lb-ft (264 Nm) as in the regular Turbo variant.

Production will commence next month and the first deliveries will be made in early February 2014. Pricing will be announced closer to the car's market release.
