Mercedes-Benz has introduced today at the Los Angeles Auto Show the AMG Vision Gran Turismo concept created exclusively for Gran Turismo 6 available only on the PlayStation 3.

Drawing its inspiration from classic models such as the W196 and 300 SL, the rear-wheel drive concept is powered by an AMG V8 engine mounted at the front which produces 577 bhp (430 kW) and a peak torque of 799 Nm (590 lb-ft) sent to the road through an AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT seven-speed sports transmission. It tips the scales at 1,384 kg (3,053 lbs) and has received high-performance ceramic brakes from AMG. A powerful soundtrack is guaranteed by the eight tailpipes at the back which provide a "generous exhaust note."

The radiator grille's shape is a throwback to the 300 SL and features LED technology with different light patterns. Most of these LEDs are arranged to form five horizontal louvres and when the daytime running lamps are turned on the center louvre will light up. Once the racing lights are activated, several LEDs light up in green in the background.

Mercedes-Benz has provided several photos with the interior cabin that is inspired by a Formula 1 car cockpit and has red integral sports seats blending into the black flooring of the footwell to create a protective shell. The central display is actually a glass surface floating above the race-spec steering wheel and provides all the vital data. The dashboard itself takes form of two gullwing doors located on each side of the column which makes the actual doors to seem like they are an extension of the dashboard.
