Mitsubishi is assaulting this year's Tokyo Motor Show with three brand new concepts called AR, GC and XR.

Wearing a striking green paint scheme, the AR (Active Runabout) is Mitsubishi's vision of a next generation compact MPV that manages to combine SUV-like maneuverability with MPV-like spaciousness. The cabin features a "cocoon" layout while under the hood there's a direct-injection 1.1-liter turbo working with a high-efficiency electric motor and a high-capacity battery.

The oddly looking silver GC (Grand Cruiser) is a preview of a full-size SUV equipped with a full-time 4WD system. Motivation is provided by a 3.0-liter V6 supercharged gasoline engine combined with a battery pack, a high-output electric motor and an eight-speed automatic transmission.

As for the red XR (Cross Runner), this one adopts the same powertrain as the AR and is a next-gen compact crossover which seems to be the most appealing in terms of design.
