Yesterday we saw RM Design's vision of the Infiniti Q30 production model and now we take a look at the eagerly awaited entry-level Jaguar which has been confirmed for a 2015 market release. Set to be slotted below the XF, the new XS (name not confirmed) will tackle important models in this segment such as the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class, BMW 3-Series and the upcoming Audi A4.

The baby Jag will ride on the firm’s newly developed iq[Al] aluminum platform and will be powered by a variety of 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter gasoline and diesel engines. It will also get a beefier V6 3.0-liter diesel and a 340 HP V6 3.0-liter supercharged gasoline motor.

The XS is being characterized by global brand director Adrian Hallmark as “the best-looking car in the segment” and it will help Jaguar “comfortably” double sales. Following the sedan's launch, the XS lineup will be expanded with the addition of coupe and estate derivatives.
