These are the first official images with the new MINI which will be revealed in full later today.
The design of the 2014 MINI doesn't stray away at all compared to the outgoing model yet overall the car seems to have a fresh design. The images depict the three-door Cooper S sporting a striking yellow paint job combined with what appears to be a glossy black roof.
We already know some of the engines which will power the third-gen MINI, starting with a newly developed 1.5-liter three-cylinder gasoline rated at 134 bhp (100 kW) and 162 lb-ft (170 lb-ft with overboost). There will also be a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder generating 189 bhp (141 kW) and 206 lb-ft (221 lb-ft with overboost).
Upon launch it will also be available with a 1.5-liter common-rail direct-injection diesel producing 114 bhp (85 kW) and 199 lb-ft (269 Nm). These engines will be connected as standard to a six-speed manual gearbox or to an optional six-speed automatic transmission.
Check back in a few hours to find out all there is to know about the new MINI.
