Volkswagen has announced plans to introduce a slightly revised CrossBlue Coupe concept at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

While the model looks virtually identical to the concept that debuted at Auto Shanghai earlier this year, the lofty performance specifications have been downgraded.

The concept still has a plug-in hybrid powertrain that consists of a turbocharged TSI V6 engine and two electric motors, but Volkswagen has lowered the estimated electric-only range from 20.5 miles (33 km) to just 13 miles (20.9 km). The company has also slashed the overall range from 739 miles (1,190 km) to 570 miles (917 km).

Volkswagen declined to mention why the specifications have been changed but press release states the L.A. CrossBlue Coupe concept has a 9.8 kWh lithium-ion battery as opposed to the previous 9.9 kWh battery.
