German tuner ABT Sportsline has revealed its intentions of participating in next year's inaugural season of the Formula E championship.

A total of ten teams will take part in the new competition and ABT will be the only German representative. The team headed by Team Principal Hans-Jürgen Abt plans on fielding two cars which will compete under the "Audi Sport ABT Formula-E Team" designation as a reference to ABT's involvement in Audi's factory team for DTM.

As a reminder, Formula E will kick off next September and will include only electric vehicles which will race around various tracks in ten locations around the world: Beijing, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Uruguay, Buenos Aires, Los Angeles, Miami, Monaco, Berlin and London. There won't be three-day weekends like in Formula 1 because the practice, qualifying session, along with the race will be organized in just one day.
