Chevrolet Performance Cars Marketing Manager John Fitzpatrick said more powerful versions of the 2014 Chevrolet SS are being considered.

John Fitzpatrick told customers have been asking for a six-speed manual gearbox and more engine offerings which could be introduced sometime in the future if the 2014 SS will meet its projected annual sales objective of 2,000 to 3,000 units.

We remind you the 2014 SS is powered exclusively by a V8 LS3 6.2-liter engine rated at 415 bhp (310 kW) and 415 lb-ft (563 Nm) of torque mated only to a six-speed automatic transmission. Holden is selling the Commodore in Australia in 455 bhp (339 kW) and 580 bhp (432 kW) versions which could be Americanized if the existing 415 bhp model proves to be a success.

John Fitzpatrick said a higher-performance Chevrolet SS will not cannibalize sales of the 2014 Cadillac CTS Vsport since "they're completely different kinds of cars for completely different kinds of customers."
