The 2014 MINI Cooper Convertible spied for the first time.
Caught being transported on back of a truck, the Cooper Convertible closely echoes the standard model that will be unveiled on November 18th. As a result, it has a soft top and an evolutionary front fascia which was previewed by the Vision concept.
Engine options will likely carryover from the standard model so expect choices to include:
- A 1.5-liter three-cylinder petrol with 134 bhp (100 kW) and 170 lb-ft (230 Nm) of torque
- A 1.5-liter three-cylinder diesel with 114 bhp (85 kW) and 199 lb-ft (269 Nm) of torque
- A 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol with 189 bhp (141 kW) and 221 lb-ft (300 Nm) of torque
The engines will be connected to new manual and automatic transmissions which promise to deliver improved efficiency and "intensive driving pleasure."
