Mercedes-Benz will soon pull the plug on the CL 63 AMG to make room for the first-ever S63 AMG Coupe scheduled to come out sometime next year. We remind you an S-Class Coupe concept was introduced in September at IAA in Frankfurt and last week company's design chief Jan Kaul described the concept as being "very close to the production version."

The prototype seen here is the hotter S63 AMG Coupe which is likely to retain the sedan’s twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 rated at 585 bhp (436 kW) and 664 lb-ft (900 Nm) of torque. As a result of this setup, the high-performance coupe should hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in approximately 4 seconds on its way to an electronically-limited speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
