Car & Driver’s December issue cover has surfaced the web, showing what could possibly be the 2015 Ford Mustang.
We don’t know for sure if the attached photo does show the new Ford Mustang but even if it’s a render it should be very close to the real deal. The cover is from Car & Driver’s December issue and appears to be legit in our opinion.
In related news, a survey conducted by Morpace for Ford surfaced the web this weekend, shedding some light as far as the engine lineup is concerned. It seems the new Mustang will be available with a choice of three engines, starting with a naturally-aspirated V6 3.8-liter producing 300 bhp (224 kW) and 290 lb-ft (393 Nm) of torque which will allow the car to return 19 mpg city and 29 mpg on the highway.
For an additional 560 USD the customer will be able to opt for an inline-four 2.4-liter GTDI outputting 310 bhp (231 kW) and 310 lb-ft (420 Nm) of torque. In this configuration, the 2015 Mustang will do 22 mpg city / 32 mpg highway.
There will also be a V8 4.9-liter available for an extra 1,890 USD which will generate 430 bhp (321 kW) and 396 lb-ft (536 Nm) and return 18 mpg city / 28 mpg highway.
The survey also envisions a starting price of 23,995 USD and four transmission options: six-speed manual, seven-speed manual, six-speed automatic and ten-speed automatic. Lastly, the convertible version is listed in the survey to cost an extra 5,000 USD.
