The Nissan Qashqai is achieving its targets, both in sales and in stealing customers from other manufacturers. Sales wise, orders are mounting up and are nearing the 50k mark, in two months a good 23,500 units were sold and Nissan is looking into increasing production capacity at their Sunderland plant in the UK. But more striking is the 69% of the sales in March were conquests from other manufacturers and the majority used the Qashqai to upgrade from a c-segment car. Side note is that the customers were younger-than-average, whether Nissan refers to auto-buyers in general, or just their own is not mentioned. Press release after the jump.
