A McLaren representative has exclusively confirmed to WCF they were the ones who placed the massive 15M GBP order for "supercar composite body structures."

Yesterday we heard from Automobile Magazine that Prodrive received a record 15M GBP order from Aston Martin for supercar composite body structures, speculating the car in question would be a successor of the One-77. It turns out this is not true as McLaren's Global Communications Director Wayne Bruce told us the order was made by McLaren for the P1 which recently entered production.

McLaren plans on making only 375 units of the P1 and most of them have already been sold, with only a few of them left for Europe. Pricing for the F1 successor kicks off in UK from 866,000 GBP.
