The BMW X3 was released mid-2010 so time has come for a mid-cycle refresh which as you can see won't be that significant. The silver car is a regular 2014 X3 whereas the black one is the M Sport variant which looks a little bit better but the design is still too similar to its smaller (X1) and larger (X5) brothers. On top of that, there will be an X4 quite soon to further deepen the design collision.

Both of the spotted prototypes were wearing a minimal amount of camouflage hiding the bumpers, side sills and the area around the headlights. We expect the engine lineup to be carried over from the current model, while the interior cabin should get a few minor revisions.

Chances are the 2014 BMW X3 facelift will be shown next month at the Los Angeles Auto Show where the Bavarian marque will also showcase the 4-Series Convertible.
