Volvo and Polestar have teamed up once again to launch a high performance variant of the V60, as seen in this initial set of spy photos.

The Swedish marque did warn us about the possibility of expanding the list of Polestar-tuned models but they said something about the V40 and XC60 receiving the treatment whereas these spy photos depict the V60. It's easy to spot the Polestar cues on this prototype as it's wearing the familiar baby blue paint and has a more aggressive body kit matched with larger alloys and Brembo brake calipers.

At this moment we don't know what's lurking under the hood but it could be the inline-six T6 2953cc from the S60 Polestar. In the hot sedan it churns 350 HP (257 kW) and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque sent to a Haldex all-wheel drive system through a six-speed automatic gearbox.

We will find out all the juicy details in a short while taking into account the prototype grabbed on camera was wearing a small amount of camo, indicating an official reveal should occur soon.
