BMW has released a new promotional video for the 2014 4-Series Convertible which will be unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

Designed to usher in a "new era" of premium mid-size convertibles, the 4-Series Cabrio replaces the 3-Series Cabrio and features a familiar design that is heavily influenced by the 4-Series Coupe. As Domagoj Dukec explains, the model is sportier looking than the 3-Series and has a long rear deck that expresses the typical "boat character" of modern BMW convertibles.

At launch, the model will be offered with three different engines including:

  • A turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 245 HP (180 kW) and 350 Nm (250 lb-ft) of torque
  • A turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder with 306 HP (225 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque
  • A 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel with 184 HP (135 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque
