Chevrolet has introduced the facelifted Agile in Brazil.

Looking slightly less awkward than its predecessor, the updated model has new bumpers, a revised grille and restyled head- and taillights. Sadly, the black appliqués remain because they "bring a sense of security and robustness to the customer."

While the exterior styling won't will everyone over, the cabin takes a step in the right direction as it features a new steering wheel and higher quality materials.

Power is provided by a 1.4-liter Econo.Flex four-cylinder engine that develops 97 HP (71 kW) and 129 Nm (95 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 11.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 172 km/h (107 mph).

When running on ethanol, the engine's output climbs to 102 HP (75 kW) and 132 Nm (97 lb-ft) of torque. The extra oomph allows the hatchback to run from 0-100 km/h in 10.9 seconds before topping out at 177 km/h (110 mph).

The 2014 Agile is currently on sale and pricing starts at $40,320 real.
