Chevrolet has announced the 2014 Malibu comes with standard stop/start system to provide a better fuel economy.

Considered to be an emergency facelift, the 2014 Malibu powered by the new 196 bhp (145 kW) 4-cylinder 2.5-liter EcoTec engine is the first car in its segment to come as standard with stop/start technology improving city mileage by 14 percent and highway efficiency by 6 percent. Chevrolet mentions the revised Malibu boasts "industry's most refined and simplest stop/start system" enabling the model to do an EPA-estimated 25 mpg city and 36 mpg highway.

Aside from being more frugal, the redesigned Malibu has a new text-to-voice feature for smartphone (including iPhone) users with support for voice-controlled connectivity as part of the MyLink system.

Offered in LS, LT and LTZ trims, the 2014 Malibu starts at 22,965 USD including the destination charges but without tax, title, license and dealer fees. The model is offered with a 24-month scheduled maintenance program comprising 27-point inspections, four oil changes and tire rotations.
