Motorsport Magazine conducted a high-speed test with the Volkswagen Golf VII GTI in the Performance guise.

They took a Golf VII GTI Performance fitted with the DSG transmission and conducted a top speed test to find out how fast is the 32,950 euro German hot hatch in the five-door variant. The 1,307 kg (2,881 lbs) car tested had a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 230 HP (169 kW) and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque.

The top speed test started using launch control and then putting the pedal to the medal until the odometer hit 250 km/h (155 mph). If you will take a closer look at the fuel gauge, you will immediately notice the seventh-gen Golf GTI is a bit thirsty when being put through its paces as the needle shows a visible drop during the high-speed run.
