Porsche has released the first teaser video of the 2014 Macan.
Set to debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the Macan is described as a "compact, concentrated and intensive" sports car that is "practical but never ordinary." The company also says the model will a "sharply contoured side profile with a sporty sloping roof line."
Engine options remain unconfirmed but the crossover is expected to be offered with a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 and a twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 that develops 395 bhp (294 kW) and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque. We can also expect an entry-level engine but there's no word on whether it will be a four- or six-cylinder. Regardless, the engines will be connected to manual and PDK transmissions which send power to a rear-biased all-wheel drive system with a Torsen limited-slip differential.
The Porsche Macan is scheduled to go into production in December and the mid-level S variant is expected to cost $52,000.
